What a time to be alive, right? I mean we can literally create anything we think up in our brains. If you have a passion you want to turn into a business or side business, read on! This is for you! There is so much you can monetize online with social media, blogs, email lists, etc. With so much information out there, it can be overwhelming to know where to start. That’s why I’m here to guide you through how to make an online business, the five essential steps that will set you on the path to success.
Step 1: Define your niche and target audience
Before you dive headfirst into building your online business, it’s crucial to know WHO you want to serve. This step is the foundation for your entire business. By identifying your niche and target audience, you can position yourself as an expert in a specific area and attract customers who are searching for exactly what you have to offer.
Once you have a clear understanding of your ideal client, it’s time to define your niche. Ask yourself what makes your business unique and how you can differentiate yourself. Consider your passions, skills, and expertise, and find a niche that aligns with them. Remember, if you’re talking to everyone, you’re really talking to no one. Get specific and be okay “excluding people”. For example, I talk to the working mama who wants to pour into her passions. This could be in taking time to workout, start a business or enjoy a hobby. Once you have defined your niche and target audience, it’s time to create a “storefront” that showcases your products or services. Of course this is virtual, not an actual storefront. This could be a website, your social media accounts, an online community, etc.
Your storefront should match your niche, tailoring your content to your ideal client. What problem are you and your services/products solving?
