Mama, I get it. You’re getting up, getting your kids ready, getting yourself ready and heading to drop offs and work. By the time you get home it’s dinner time, baths and bed time. You want to have time for you, you want to workout, you know you’d benefit, but where do you start? Let me share all my tips for how to workout from home as a working mom.

Staying Consistent Working Out From Home

Working out from home is truly the best for working moms. No need to pay a gym membership, no need for childcare and no commute. I simply walk to my garage (which I’ve turn into my gym) and press play on a workout which usually I don’t even have to think about because I’m more than likely following a specific program.

My favorite at home workouts: BODi (formerly Beachbody).

The combo of OnDemand workouts (the option of live workouts) and a community of other like-minded women is the best way to stay consistent in how to workout from home.

Different BODi Options for How to Workout from Home

If you’re someone who needs structure and wants an easy routine to just be able to turn on your computer, or screen and know exactly what workout comes next, a program is perfect for you. I love knowing that I don’t have to think about what workout I need to do or worse, having to come up with a workout on my own. Following a calendar means, I follow along with what a certified trainer has specifically put together to get the best results.

If you’re someone who enjoys getting to pick and choose depending on what you’re feeling, you can choose from thousands of workouts OnDemand. Maybe you’re in the mood for pilates or maybe boxing is more what you’re looking for. Maybe you’re a runner or maybe you just want to lift heavy. Whatever mood you’re in, whatever goals you have, BODi has something for you.

If you’re someone who is motivated by showing up to a live class (like at a studio or gym) our BODi live classes are for you. Sign up in advance and even snag a spot on the BODcast to workout live on screen with the trainer.

BODi has been the solution to how to workout from home as a working mom and how I have stayed consistent in many seasons of motherhood and many seasons in my career.

My Schedule as a Working Mom

I know you have very limited time in the day mama. Here’s my schedule and how I fit in my workouts as a busy, working mom of two littles.

4:30-5: Morning routine, make and drink pre-workout – try out my favorite pre-workout here! I love the lemon flavor!

5 – 5:30/5:45: Workout

6 – 8: Kids up, get them ready, get myself ready, all the morning things

8:30: Drop off kids and head to work

9 – 3: Work

3 – 4: Pick ups and head home (I pick up both kids and our dog from daycare so it takes a while)

4:30: Dinner for the kids while I prep our dinner

5:30: Bath time

6:00: Dinner for us, play and wind down time for the kids

7:00 – 7:30: Kids go to bed

7:30 – 9:30/10: Rest, work my business, time with my husband and bed

What I’ve found is that if you can plan out your days and be super intentional with your time, you CAN find the time to workout from home. (And really you can find time for whatever you want to do as long as you prioritize it!)

How to Workout from Home: The Key Factor

Okay, if you really want to workout from home and stay consistent, I have a secret. You need to make it your job! Before partnering with BODi, I was never someone who worked out. I didn’t enjoy working out and I made up every excuse to not do it. To be honest, as I reflect back on the last few years, I would most likely not still be prioritizing working out if I hadn’t made it my job.

As a BODi partner, I build my business by first taking care of myself, pouring into me through working out, nutrition and personal development. Then, sharing it with others, helping others get connected with these programs and products and partnering with others who want to make it their job to pour into themselves. It’s a ripple effect.

For some reason, we show up for others more consistently than we show up for ourselves SO make it your job to prioritize your workouts, to share that with others, making an income as big as your impact and you’ll stay consistent with working out from home. That’s the secret sauce!
