As we head into the new year, how are you feeling? Ready to set some new goals, craft your new years vision board and crush the upcoming year? Well.. you’re in the right place! Today, we’re going to talk about how to create your new years vision board!
Reflecting on your Vision
Before we actually create our vision boards, we need to reflect on where we are currently and where we want to go!
So take a second and close your eyes. Envision the person you want to be. The person you wish to live as. How does she/he act, think, feel. What does she/he do daily? Create your goals based on the person you wish to become. Start taking small action steps to be like that person today.
When I create goals, I like to think about these different categories.
- personal
- health and fitness
- family
- career
- finance
I also like to think about my goals for the whole year but then chunk it into quarters. I find that if I plan just for the year, I push off my goals.. because “I have the whole year” right?
Take a second to pause and write down your goals. Figure out what categories you want to have goals in. Write down your goals for the year and then work backward to chunk it by quarter.
Creating your New Years Vision Board
Okay.. now that we have our goals, it’s time to create a vision board. I love a vision board because it’s a way to actually SEE what you’re working toward. So look at your goals, grab inspirational pictures and let’s create that vision.
I like to create my vision board in Canva but you can also do it on a poster board or in powerpoint or on a regular paper.
Some ideas of things to include on your vision board:
- Your word of the year (I like to choose a word to be my focus for the entire year. Just something of encouragement and motivation)
- personal and family things you want to accomplish
- health and fitness inspiration
- any career goals or vision
- financial goals
- quotes and things that inspire you
NOW for the most important part… PRINT IT OUT (or if it’s a hard copy already skip this step) and PUT IT SOMEWHERE YOU WILL SEE EVERY DAY!
When you put it somewhere you’ll see every day, it stays at the forefront of your mind! The more you think about and envision your goals and life the way you want it, the more likely you will take action to accomplish those goals!
