I honestly can’t believe how fast the first year of my son’s life has gone by! Does life ever slow down?
For Beckham’s first birthday party, we threw a huge celebration! We had a ton of family and friends at our house and had so much celebrating that our baby turned one!
Beck’s First Down Birthday Party
Decorations
We went pretty simple with the decorations. Luckily, Beck’s birthday is close to Superbowl Sunday so I raided the football theme decorations at Party City when they were out for the Superbowl.

Keeping it simple was the perfect way to get the theme across without being too much!
Food
Sticking with the football theme, we did foods you’d get at a football game. Plus cupcakes because duh! Again the food was super simple and we got WAY too much! My husband and I are both the type of people to get way more than we need but I guess it’s better than not having enough, ha!
- Pizzas (from Costco)
- Nachos – I put the canned nacho cheese in my crockpot and let it sit out for people to munch on all throughout the party
- Fruit Salad
- Caesar Salad
- Cupcakes and a cake for Beckham
- Chocolate fountain
My goal for the food was to be simple and easy to prep ahead of time! Luckily, we had family members come to town and they helped with a lot of the food prep before like cutting the fruit and making decorating the cupcakes.
The food was super low maintenance and people were able to enjoy it throughout the party!
One Year Old Birthday Party
When searching for a theme for Beckham’s birthday, I decided on this one because “First” Year down can only really be used for his first birthday PLUS it was super cute and easy to pull off!
