7 Easy Self Care Ideas for Moms

Okay mama, it’s YOU time! I know you’re busy. I know you’re caring for so many around you. Yes, I know it’s hard to find the time. BUT this is for YOU. We need to MAKE the time as busy mamas for our self care. When we fill up our own cups (and FIRST) we then can overflow into caring for those around us. It’s crucial to take care of ourselves! SO here are 7 easy self care ideas for moms so you can pour into you!
1. Drink your coffee in silence
Sometimes we just need quiet. No one saying “mama” over and over again. No questions. Just pure silence and time with our own thoughts. SO grab that cup of coffee (and drink it while it’s hot) and enjoy that silence. I like to do this first thing when I wake up!
2. Read or listen to an audiobook or podcast
Do you like to read? Or maybe you’re not a reader but you enjoy a good audiobook or podcast? Put in your headphones and listen while you’re cleaning the house, folding laundry, doing dishes. Get ready for bed 20 minutes earlier and read before bed. OR get up earlier to read! What’s your favorite? Personal development? Mystery? Love story?
3. Set your alarm 20 minutes earlier and do something for YOU
I know, I know, you can’t seem to find the time to do any kind of self care. Well… it’s time to MAKE time. Set your alarm 20 minutes earlier so you can do something just for you, that you enjoy! I am obsessed with my morning me time. This is when I sip my coffee in silence, read my personal development book and write out my gratitude and goals. What would you do with 20 minutes for yourself?
4. Spend time outside
There’s something about fresh air and vitamin D that is just so good for the soul! If you can spend the time outside alone that’s a bonus!
5. Move your body
Endorphins are so real! Find a way to move your body that you actually enjoy and look forward to. Maybe that’s a walk or yoga, stretching, HIIT, strength training, dance. Whatever it is, do it!
6. Open a bottle of the good wine
Why do we always save the “good wine” for a special occasion or when people come over? Open that bottle for YOU! You deserve it! What’s your favorite? Mine… I’m a cabernet girl!
7. Schedule time to unplug
When will you have that time away from your phone, away from screens, JUST to enjoy that family time, partner time, you time? We’re busy, we already know that, SO schedule it in. When you schedule something in you’re more likely to do it.
